The verification matrix

“Vetted” should mean something you can read.

Most directories list anyone who pays. This one lists anyone who passes eight checks — and shows you the date of each one. Here is the whole standard, in the open.

1 · You apply

A stylist submits their salon, services and honest answers about how they work. No fee decides the outcome.

2 · We check on site

Every line of the matrix is checked in person — certificate in hand, tools inspected, tension tested, aftercare read.

3 · The log stays open

Each check is written to a public compliance log on the profile, with its date and outcome. Audits repeat every six months.

The eight checks

01

Current hygiene certificate

A local authority certificate, renewed within the last twelve months.

02

Tools sterilised between clients

Combs, clips and shears go through a hospital-grade sterilant, not just a rinse.

03

Fibre is declared

Any extension fibre used is named and traceable — never unlabelled or recycled hair.

04

Tension checked at the root

Every install ends with a scalp and edge tension check before you leave the chair.

05

Patch test before first service

New clients are tested for reaction before any chemical or adhesive is applied.

06

Consultation before styling

A real conversation about your state, history and limits — before the comb touches your head.

07

Written aftercare

You leave with written takedown timing, wash rhythm and what to watch for.

08

Complaint log and remedy policy

Complaints are recorded, and there is a stated way to fix a bad outcome.

What the log records

Hygiene audits, spot visits, product checks, takedown checks, certificate renewals and client complaints. A check that fails is logged as failed — it is not quietly deleted. A stylist with a lapsed certificate shows as “needs renewal” on their profile until it is renewed, and you can see exactly which line lapsed.
